In the port and shipyard vocational training sectors Livorno Port Authority’s Vocational Training Centre (VTC), (accredited by Tuscany County Council as a “Vocational Training Project Manager“), combining the results obtained by using an in-house tool called Observatory of Port Professions with specific analysis and management activities performed by a team of experts, is able to plan, programme and coordinate:

• Vocational training activities for Human Resources re-training and upgrading both for in-house personnel and for port companies, terminals, dock and shipyard workers;
• Certification of professions and skills accreditation activities for existing professional profiles in the port and shipbuilding/shiprepair sectors;
• EU, National, County and District level funded projects devised to promote Human Resources development in the port and shipbuilding/ship-repair sectors;
• Needs analysis and feasibility studies;
• Monitoring and evaluation activities;
• Multi-regional and transnational activities with other ports to promote the development of a common Port Vocational Training System;
• Vocational guidance and mentoring with EU/non-EU Countries and work-placements at local and trans-national levels.
