Transational Cooperation Agreement
EUNETYARD
Supporting Employment & Adaptability in Shipbuilding Sector

The transnational activities have been carried out through a specific Transnational Cooperation Agreement called “EUNETYARD – Supporting Employment & Adaptability in Shipbuilding Sector”, with the co-operation of Turun AKK Vocational Training Centre from the city of Turku (Finland) and Neorion KEK Vocational Training Centre from the island of Syros (Greece).
In this framework, focused on the main challenges related to the European Shipbuilding Industry crisis, activities have been carried out regarding the following issues:

  • Exchange of information and experiences on safety and health in the shipyards;
  • Handling the problems of ageing workers;
  • Analysis of production processes and outsorcing subcontracting issues;
  • Developing a communication and cooperation environment (web portal & content management
    tools);
  • Developing a common skill certification and accreditation methodology for the European shipbuilding industry and comparing common professional profiles by using the Observatory;
  • e-Forum on the Industrial Relations for the shipbuilding/ship-repair sector workers;
  • Identifying the guidelines for a promotion plan devised to attract younger people and newcomers
    in the European shipbuilding and boatbuilding industry.

Apart from these, a number of so-called horizontal actions have also been carried out, including:

  • Innovative actions to reinforce the added value of the partnership;
  • Empowerment of both the target groups of the project (employees and other actors of the industry) and all the partners of the 3 DPs;
  • Dissemination activities;
  • Mainstreaming activities to achieve impact on policies.
